Jeremy Ausmus is the PokerGO Tour (PGT) Player of the Year 2024

American poker pro Jeremy Ausmus has been crowned PokerGO Tour (PGT) Player of the Year 2024 thanks to another extraordinary performance at the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

With 2,966 points from 26 total cashes and a tournament win at the $15k PGT PLO event in October, Ausmus was able to blow away the competition. Among the competitors in the ranking were such famous players as Daniel Negreanu (Canada), who took second place with 2,054 points.

PGT Player of the Year Ranking points are calculated based on players' placements and buy-ins in PokerGO Tour (PGT) tournaments. Higher ranking and higher purchases bring more points.

Additionally, performance in selected top-level tournaments such as the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and Super High Roller Bowl is factored into the score. For Ausmus, 2024 was a year of records.

The American not only managed to equal Phil Hellmuth's famous record of seven final table appearances in a single WSOP, but also won $6.7 million in prize money – including $5.99 million from the PGT event alone. He now receives an additional bonus of $50,000 for winning the Player of the Year award.

Participation in PGT Championship ensured

To conclude the season, Ausmus will now compete in the PGT Championship, where the top 40 players in the rankings will play for a $500,000 prize pool. The event, in which Ausmus will start with 350,000 chips, will be broadcast live on PokerGO.com on January 10 and 11. Their mission to defend their title will begin on January 20. It begins with the start of the PGT Kickoff Series at the PokerGO Studios in Las Vegas.

Poker Hall of Fame voting could also generate excitement over the summer. The 45-year-old Ausmus is over the minimum age of 40 to join the prestigious ranks of the greatest poker players of all time. If he is able to maintain his performance levels in the first half of 2025, his chances are probably not bad.

However, the competition is stiff: Scott Seaver and Nick Shulman will also turn 40 this year and so could also be considered.
