Dome Free: Mirage Las Vegas Atrium Removed

With Atrium, Wynn successfully gave its guests the feeling of entering a Polynesian paradise in the middle of the Mojave Desert – a resort so full of luxury, entertainment and surprises, it would be a destination in itself.

Many question the destruction of the atrium, as this space could have served as a perfectly functional and beautiful way to enter a second Hard Rock Las Vegas. (First reopened in 2021 as Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.)

However, when you consider Hard Rock's perspective, there really was no other option. And it is precisely because Wynn's plan to indelibly implant the Atrium memory in all first-time visitors to the Mirage was so wildly successful.
