Las Vegas hotels offer discounts for wildfire survivors

Some Las Vegas hotels have offered reduced rates for evacuees due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.

The Treasure Island Las Vegas hotel is offering a room to guests affected by the fire for $79 a day through Jan. 31.

Additionally, Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, where hospitality workers are on strike, is cutting rates by up to 50%, as well as offering free parking and a dog-friendly deal that started Thursday and runs through Feb. 3.

Additionally, Resorts World Las Vegas has a 35% discount for those affected by the wildfires.

MGM Resorts cuts room rates by 35%. Other discounts are available at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas and South Point hotels.

Airbnb is working with 211LA to provide free housing to people evacuating Southern California due to wildfires. Airbnb hosts in and around Las Vegas are laying off people.

but a word of caution Vital Vegas —For those leaving California with their pets, if they are not dogs.

wildfire update

Till the fourth day on Friday, 10 people have died due to the forest fire. Over 9,000 structures were damaged or destroyed. In total, approximately 180,000 residents were evacuated.

Several wildfires are affecting Southern California. The Pacific Palisades fire appears to be the most serious. As of Friday morning, about 19,978 acres of land had been damaged, and the fire was 6% contained.

The Eaton Fire burned 13,690 acres of land. The fire could not be controlled till Friday morning.

The Kenneth Fire burned 960 acres. By Friday morning the fire was 35% contained.

The Sunset Fire burned 60 acres and is 100% contained. The Hurst Fire burned 771 acres. As of Thursday night, it was 37% controlled. The Lydia Fire has burned 394 acres and is 75% contained.

Looting has been a problem in the evacuated areas. More than 20 people were arrested.

Nevada firefighters in California

A group of firefighters from Nevada temporarily relocated to the Los Angeles area to help California firefighters fight a deadly wildfire.

I am grateful for the bravery of our firefighters and the quick response of our state and local partners. “Please join me in praying for the safety of our first responders and immediate relief for the families and communities displaced by these wildfires,” Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo, R, said in a statement.

As of mid-week, they include four strike teams and a task force. This is equivalent to 25 engines and 110 to 125 firefighters.

Additionally, more firefighters are departing from the Clark County Fire Department, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, and Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue.

Volunteers from the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada will also serve in Los Angeles for two weeks.

celebrities lost houses

Two celebrities, known for past performances in Las Vegas, lost their homes in Southern California this week due to wildfires. They are Billy Crystal and Paris Hilton.

“Words cannot describe the magnitude of the devastation we are seeing and experiencing,” Crystal said in a recent statement. “We are heartbroken for our friends and neighbors who have lost homes and businesses in this tragedy.”

“Janice and I had lived in our house since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that cannot be taken away. Of course our hearts are broken but with the love of our children and friends we will overcome this.

He described Pacific Palisades as “a resilient community of amazing people and we know it will bounce back with time.” this is our house.”

Hilton said she was watching the news with her family and saw on live TV that her beach house in Malibu burned down.

“It was something no one should have to experience,” he said in a statement.
