Casino murder suspect arrested

A man was arrested at the Elk Grove, California Sky River Casino on Thursday accused of killing his wife in 2023.

Nathaniel McCowan, 49, of Oakland, California, was charged with murder in the death of Laketha McCowan.

He was arrested on a warrant that was approved in Alameda Superior Court just hours before his arrest. Nathaniel McCowan was booked into Santa Rita Jail. Thursday's arrest occurred without incident, police said.

The case was handed over to local prosecutors. If found guilty, he could face several years in jail.

The fatal shooting occurred on February 26, 2023, at the Edwards Avenue ramp of Interstate 580 in Oakland. The victim was found on the side of the road. He died at the crime scene from a gunshot wound, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It is not clear what caused the woman's death due to gunshot.

The arrest was made after investigation by multiple police departments.

Demand for armed casino visitor

Police are continuing to search for two people who caused a disturbance at the Paradise Casino in Arizona on Wednesday.

A man pulled out a gun during the incident at a Yuma, Ariz. gaming property.

According to Arizona TV station KYMA, the altercation occurred around 4:30 a.m., with both men ordered to leave the casino.

According to initial reports, no shots were fired. Police did not say what led to the argument.

The case was investigated by the Quechan Police Department.

There was a report of shots fired at the Riverwalk Casino garage.

Police are continuing to investigate a possible shooting in the parking garage of the Riverwalk Casino Hotel in Mississippi last Saturday.

The incident took place last Saturday morning at around 7 am. The gaming property is located on the Mississippi River.

Initial reports say an unidentified employee was shot in the garage. Vicksburg Daily NewsA local news outlet.

The case was investigated by the Vicksburg Police Department.

Details were not immediately available.

Man accused of stealing casino chips

A man appeared in court Tuesday accused of stealing gambling chips from a Hollywood casino in Pennsylvania on Dec. 8.

According to police, the chips were picked up from the gambling table by 35-year-old Macy Wilson of Baltimore, MD.

Wilson then fled from the gaming floor through the bus exit of the Grantville, PA casino. He then entered the casino's parking garage. He reached his car and drove out of the garage. The vehicle was later found by Pennsylvania State Police at an undisclosed hotel.

While state troopers were inside the hotel lobby, Wilson walked through the lobby as the troopers were watching surveillance video.

When officers searched the suspect's hotel room, they found clothing similar to the one Wilson had worn at the casino, police said. He also found a casino voucher in the guest room.

According to the report, Wilson was captured and later admitted to state police that he had stolen the chips. The total value of the chips was $9,500, according to Pennsylvania TV station WHTM.

State police revealed that Wilson was charged with robbery, burglary and receiving stolen property. He was booked into the Dauphin County Jail. His bail was initially set at $500K by Judge Dale Klein.

If found guilty on the charges, he could face jail time.

State police said Wilson remains under investigation for possible involvement in a crime ring.
