23rd World Poker Tour (WPT): Schedule published until May

The World Poker Tour (WPT) unveiled the long-awaited schedule for the first half of its 23rd season on January 9. It covers seven events across four continents. We take a look at the events and explain what poker fans around the world can expect.

There are many highlights coming in the first half of the year

The new season begins in Southeast Asia. There will also be two tournaments in Cambodia: the WPT Prime Cambodia Tournament from February 14 to 18, with a US$1,100 buy-in, followed by the WPT Cambodia Championship (February 19 to 24, with a US$3,500 buy-in).

The WPT Rolling Thunder tournament will then head to California (March 16-19), before the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown in Florida (April 4-8) and WPT Choctaw in Oklahoma (May 2-5) will give talented poker players a Will bring along.

Tournaments have been held at all three venues in past years. In parallel with the US tournaments, the WPT Prime Tour will stop at new venues in Cyprus (March 13-17) and Australia (March 21-26).

• 4th April to 8th April: 3.500 USD WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown in Hollywood, Florida
• 2 to 5 May: 3.800 USD WPT Choctaw in Durant, Oklahoma

WPT CEO Adam Pliska promises an “extraordinary poker celebration for poker players around the world”

According to WPT CEO Adam Pliska, like in previous years, the aim of the 2025 WPT season is to ensure that poker players around the world can experience exceptional poker festivals. The WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown and WPT Choctaw Championship will also be televised, giving participating players access to a bigger stage.

Concurrent satellite tournaments are scheduled to take place during the first half of WPT Season 23 on online platforms such as ClubWPT, WPT Global and ClubWPT Gold. These aim to enable more players to take part in qualifying for major events in places such as Cambodia and Cyprus from their home. There is also a tournament scheduled to take place on a Mediterranean island in the second half of the season.

The new season follows an exciting end to Season 22 in Las Vegas, where Scott Stewart won the WPT World Championship and $2.5 million in prize money. We will soon know who will be among the favorites in the current season.
